Janitorial Workers' Comp for Agents: What CPR Places and What to Send
CPR Business Solutions places workers' compensation for janitorial and commercial cleaning contractors that standard markets decline or non-renew: high experience mods, cumulative trauma claims, large payrolls and multi-site contracts. Tell us the operation, the state and roughly where the mod sits, and we reply within one business day with a yes, a no, or exactly what we would need to see. You do not need an ACORD or loss runs for that first answer.

Accounts we want to see
Commercial janitorial contractors (California 9008; NCCI 9014 in most other states).
Experience mods above roughly 1.25, and accounts carrying California cumulative trauma claims.
Contractors with large payroll across many client buildings or several states.
Accounts with subcontracted or franchise cleaning models.
Cancellations, non-renewals and lapsed coverage.
Clean janitorial accounts that want a better price or a carrier that will grow with them.
How we place them
We take the account to the market that fits it. Depending on the file, that means standard or specialty non-standard markets, PEO and ASO programs, pay-as-you-go structures, or a state fund or assigned-risk placement with a plan to move the account out as the mod improves. A high-mod account with a thin file gets an instant decline; the same account with its story explained gets quoted.
What to send
Start with the three-line answer through Will We Write It. If it is a yes, send:
ACORD 130 and a description of the work: office, medical-office, industrial or post-construction cleaning.
Four to five years of currently valued loss runs.
The experience mod worksheet, current and prior.
Payroll by class code and state, including window washing or floor work at height if any.
Employee count, turnover rate and how supervisors are deployed across sites.
Chemical handling and slip-and-fall training, and the return-to-work program.
Subcontractor agreements and certificates, if used.
Tell the story of the losses
Underwriters price the next serious injury. A shock loss three years ago with nothing since reads very differently from steady frequency, and the submission should say which one it is. Include what changed after the loss: new supervision, training, written safety procedures, and a return-to-work program that brings injured employees back on modified duty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is janitorial class code 9008 the same in every state?
No. In California, 9008 is janitorial services. Under NCCI, used in most other states including South Carolina, contract janitorial is generally 9014 and 9008 means something else.
Does CPR work with retail agents?
Yes. Agents and business owners both submit to us. We are a wholesale workers' comp MGA, built to take the accounts a retail agent cannot place with their own markets.
Do you only want high-mod accounts?
No. We place hard accounts, but we also quote clean accounts with a reasonable loss history that want a better price or a better carrier. Send those too.
What states do you cover?
We place workers' comp nationwide, with a strong California focus. Monopolistic states and state-specific rules are handled case by case.
